Debra is a seasoned hotel executive with 20 years of leadership experience at FelCor Lodging Trust and over 30 years in the hospitality industry. In her role as Vice President, Capital Transactions at FelCor, she was responsible for leading change in redevelopment and repositioning projects in excess of $50 million.


A few of her major redevelopment projects included:


     $42 million redevelopment and rebranding of the 400-room Crowne Plaza in San Francisco, CA to the San Francisco Marriott Union Square. Complete renovation of all guestrooms, public areas, building exterior and MEP systems.

     $45 million redevelopment of the 383-room Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, MA. Over $20 million of MEP infrastructure upgrades, complete renovation of guestrooms and building a new 3,000 square roof top fitness center. Led the reconcepting of a $6 million  renovation of The Oak Room and Bar, which was averaging approximately $1 million a year in sales to achieving over $8 million in sales annually.

     $50 million redevelopment of the 361-room Renaissance Vinoy in St. Petersburg, FL, which included golf course amenity upgrades, new 18,000 sq. ft. fitness center, 8,000 sq. ft. spa and parking garage, which required referendum vote to entitle.

    $20 million redevelopment at Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach, SC, which included fitness center, spa and infrastructure.


Prior to joining FelCor Debra was a general manager for several full service hotels in the greater DC market for more than 10 years. Her vast hotel operations background, in conjunction with years of development experience, gives her a unique combination of skills. Core competencies include strategic planning, market and financial analysis, financial modeling and underwriting, project scope development, project management, asset management and significant expertise in evaluating potential acquisitions. Debra also has experience in negotiating management contracts, ground leases and purchase and sale agreements.


Debra graduated with her MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in July 2016. She earned her Master of Science in Theoretical Linguistics with a minor in German from Georgetown University and her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Kansas (a devout Jayhawk!).  She is fluent in German and conversational in French and Spanish.
